1. What is a PDO under PM-WANI?
A Public Data Office (PDO) is a local entrepreneur or business that provides public Wi-Fi access using PM-WANI compliant infrastructure. PDOs work in partnership with a PDOA like Nabha Satcom, which provides backend and compliance support.
2. Do I need a license to become a PDO?
No license is required. You only need to register with a certified PDOA (like Nabha Satcom) and follow a simple onboarding process. The regulatory part shall be taken care by Nabha Satcom.
3. What do I need to start as a PDO?
- A small space/shop with electricity
- An internet connection (broadband )
- A PM-WANI compliant access point from Nabha Satcom
- A smartphone or PC for monitoring
4. How much can I earn as a PDO?
PDOs earn by selling Wi-Fi plans to local users. Earnings depend on user footfall and plan sales. Many PDOs also see increased shop traffic and additional income through digital services. However a one can expect anywhere from Rs 5000/- to Rs 25,000/- through this scheme.
5. How do I get technical support?
Nabha Satcom provides remote and on-site support for installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting. You also get access to our backend dashboard and helpline.
6. What happens if my device has issues?
We offer warranty support on PM-WANI access points sold by us. Just contact our support team, and we’ll help you resolve or replace the device as needed.
7. Is the system secure and legal?
Yes. All internet users are authenticated using OTP or app-based login, and Nabha Satcom maintains full compliance with DoT logging and security requirements.
8. Can I use any router or do I need to buy from Nabha Satcom?
You must use a PM-WANI compliant from Nabha Satcom. Nabha Satcom provides tested and certified devices that work seamlessly with our PDOA backend.
9. Do I need to keep a logbook or paperwork for users?
No. All user session logs and usage data are securely maintained in our cloud backend, as per DoT regulations. You can access reports through your dashboard.
10. What’s the average data usage per user?
It varies by location. On average, users consume 100–300MB per session. Students and professionals may use more during long sessions or video calls.
11. What is the cost of becoming a PDO?
Starting costs include the price of the access point and a small internet connection. Nabha Satcom’s devices start from ₹5,000 (excl. GST), with a small monthly subscription fees.
12. Can I upgrade to a higher range device later?
Yes. Nabha Satcom offers multiple models (Indoor, Outdoor, Long Range) that can be upgraded anytime as your user base grows.
13. Is training provided for me or my staff?
Yes. We provide onboarding assistance, video guides, and support calls to make sure you’re confident with installation and management.

You can contact our technical support team via WhatsApp, phone, or email. We provide proactive diagnostics and remote troubleshooting.
1. How do I connect to PM-WANI Wi-Fi?
Simply open your Wi-Fi settings, connect to the available PM-WANI hotspot, and follow the instructions on the login page. You’ll receive an OTP for verification.
2. Is the service free?
Some PDOs may offer limited free access, but most provide affordable data packs starting as low as ₹5–₹10 for short-term access and from Rs 150-200 for monthly users.
3. Is it safe to use PM-WANI Wi-Fi?
Yes. Your identity is verified and all usage is logged securely by the PDOA (Nabha Satcom) as per government rules.
4. What can I use the Wi-Fi for?
You can use the Wi-Fi for browsing, what’s app calling, online classes, government services, payments, YouTube, WhatsApp, and much more.
5. I’m not getting speed or I’m disconnected — what should I do?
Check if your data pack is active or if your session has expired. If problems persist, inform the PDO (shop owner) or contact our support team.
6. Can I use the same account at other locations?
Yes! PM-WANI supports roaming across PDOs under the same PDOA. As long as you’re on a Nabha Satcom-enabled hotspot, your login credentials can work seamlessly.
7. Can I recharge online or only through the shop?
You can recharge both ways—either directly through the Nabha login portal or by paying the PDO in cash for a voucher.
8. Is my personal data (like mobile number) safe?
Yes. Your mobile number is used only for OTP authentication. No data is sold or shared without legal obligation.
9. I switched off Wi-Fi and now I’m logged out. What should I do?
Simply reconnect to the Nabha PM-WANI network and log in using the same method (OTP or app). Your session will resume if your plan is active.
10. What devices can I connect with?
You can connect smartphones, tablets, laptops, or any Wi-Fi enabled device. Each plan may support one device at a time unless specified.
11. Can I use PM-WANI for attending online classes or video calls?
Yes! Our access points support high-speed browsing and are perfect for video conferencing, online classes, and social media.
12. Do I need to download an app?
No app is required. The Wi-Fi login portal opens automatically when you connect. However, if using a Nabha Satcom partner app, you may enjoy additional features like recharging or usage tracking.
13. Will the Wi-Fi work if there's no power?
Only if the PDO has a backup power system (UPS). You can check with the local Wi-Fi provider or PDO.
